Quick verdict
If you own a Mighty2, this is the filter to buy once a year; the box holds one cartridge, which is a full year's supply. It costs roughly $10 to $15 a year more than the genuine Coway Airmega AP-1512HH Filter Set, and it will not fit an original Mighty, AP-1512HHS or Airmega 200M, so check the model label (AP-1512N) before ordering.
Ideal for
- Coway Airmega Mighty2 owners (AP-1512N, white or beige)
- Owners who want one yearly swap instead of separate HEPA and carbon changes
- Anyone who wants Coway's rated HEPA and carbon performance rather than an unknown third-party cartridge
Not ideal for
- Original Mighty AP-1512HH, AP-1512HHS or Airmega 200M owners (buy the AP-1512HH-FP set)
- Shoppers chasing the lowest annual cost (third-party AP-1512N cartridges sell for about half as much)
The full picture
The Mighty2 (AP-1512N) uses a single Max2 2-in-1 cartridge that combines the HEPA and activated-carbon layers, sold by Coway as the Fresh Starter filter, part AP-1512N-FP, for $69.99 and rated for up to 12 months. It replaces the old Mighty's three-piece arrangement of one HEPA filter plus two carbon pre-filters, so there are no six-month carbon swaps to track. The washable pre-filter is not part of it and stays in the purifier.

Pros and cons
What works
- One cartridge, one swap a year: no separate 6-month carbon pre-filters
- Coway says it holds about 20% more HEPA media and 45% more carbon than the original Mighty's filters
- Genuine part keeps the Mighty2's rated 240 CFM smoke CADR
- Sold direct by Coway and under the COWAY brand on Amazon
What doesn't
- $69.99 list, about $10–$15 a year more than the original Mighty's genuine set
- Fits only the Mighty2; useless for an AP-1512HH household
- Carbon and HEPA are bonded, so a smoke-loaded carbon layer means replacing the whole cartridge

Frequently asked questions
Does the Mighty2 filter fit the Coway AP-1512HH?
No. The Mighty2 filter (AP-1512N-FP) is a single combined HEPA and carbon cartridge shaped for the AP-1512N. The AP-1512HH, AP-1512HHS and Airmega 200M take the older AP-1512HH-FP set of one HEPA filter plus two carbon pre-filters, and the two systems do not interchange in either direction.
What is the part number for the Coway Mighty2 filter?
Coway's genuine part is AP-1512N-FP, sold as the Airmega Mighty2 Max2 'Fresh Starter' filter. The purifier's own model number, AP-1512N, is on the label on the unit; anything marked AP-1512HH is the wrong filter.
How long does the Mighty2 filter last?
Coway rates it for up to 12 months, and the purifier shows remaining filter life as a percentage. Smoke events, several pets or round-the-clock high speeds will shorten that, so treat 12 months as the ceiling rather than the target.
Are third-party Mighty2 filters worth it?
They fit and cost roughly half as much per cartridge, but makers rarely publish tested efficiency or carbon weight, so performance is a guess. Our guide to genuine vs compatible filters covers the trade-off.
Is the Mighty2 filter more expensive than the original Mighty's?
Slightly. The Mighty2 cartridge lists at $69.99 for a year, while Coway's genuine AP-1512HH filter set runs about $55 to $60 for a year's HEPA plus two carbon pre-filters. The Mighty2 filter does contain more media, according to Coway.
