Read the model number on your purifier before ordering anything. If it says AP-1512HH, AP-1512HHS or Airmega 200M, you need the three-piece AP-1512HH-FP set (about $55–60 a year); if it says AP-1512N, you need the one-piece AP-1512N-FP cartridge ($69.99). Neither fits the other machine.

On this site the genuine parts are the Coway Airmega AP-1512HH Filter Set and the Coway Airmega Mighty2 Replacement Filter. Both are a single year's supply; the washable mesh pre-filter on each purifier is a permanent part, not a consumable.
Which Mighty do you own?
The two look alike from across a room and share the "Airmega Mighty" name, which is why wrong orders are common. In order of reliability:
- The label. The model number on the unit is the only proof. Anything starting AP-1512HH, plus the 200M, is the original platform. AP-1512N is the Mighty2.
- When you bought it. Coway launched the Mighty2 in March 2026. A purifier bought earlier is an original.
- Ionizer setting. The original Mighty has an ionizer you can switch off. The Mighty2 has none.
- Pre-filter access. On the Mighty2, the washable pre-filter is removed from the side panel.
- The filter readout. The Mighty2 shows remaining filter life as a percentage.
- App control. The AP-1512HHS is the Wi-Fi, app-connected version of the original. No Mighty2 Wi-Fi version turned up in research, so an app-controlled Mighty is an original-platform unit.
If you inherited a unit with no label left, check the filter already inside it. A HEPA panel with separate carbon sheets means the original; one bonded cartridge means the Mighty2.
Why they aren't interchangeable
The difference is structural, not just a size mismatch. The original stacks a HEPA filter behind loose carbon sheets that you change on their own schedule. The Mighty2 bonds HEPA and carbon into one cartridge, and Coway puts its media at about 20% more HEPA and 45% more carbon than the older set. A filter shaped for one housing has no way to seal in the other.
Third-party sellers know buyers mix these up, and many Mighty2 listings state "NOT fit AP-1512HH" in the title. Read that line before you click buy, and ignore any listing that claims to fit both.
What each costs to keep running
Per year with genuine parts, the original set comes to about $55–60, while the Mighty2 cartridge is $69.99, or $66.49 on Coway's subscription. Home Depot has listed Allergen and Pet versions of the AP-1512HH set at $54.99 and $51.99.
For five years of ownership, the purifier's original filter handles the first twelve months and you buy four more:
| Five-year filter spend | Original Mighty | Mighty2 |
|---|---|---|
| Genuine, list | about $220–$240 | $279.96 |
| Genuine, Coway subscription | not checked | $265.96 |
| Third-party | not checked | about $112 |
The gap is about $40–$60 over five years, smaller than many owners expect. Older estimates on this site put the original's set near $45 a year; current Coway pricing is higher, so budget on the figures above. Run your own numbers in the filter cost calculator.
Schedules that catch owners out
Original Mighty: the HEPA lasts a year, but the carbon sheets don't. The second carbon sheet in each set is meant to go in at the six-month mark; leave the first one in all year and odor control fades long before the HEPA is due. If a smoky stretch saturates the carbon early, you can fit the spare sheet ahead of schedule, but you'll then be a sheet short before the HEPA is due.
Mighty2: one date to remember, and one catch. Because carbon and HEPA are bonded, a winter of wood smoke or heavy cooking that saturates the carbon ends the whole $69.99 cartridge, even if the HEPA layer has life left. Coway rates it for up to 12 months, so treat a year as the ceiling.
After either swap, the purifier's filter indicator needs a reset. The user manual for your model shows the procedure.
Genuine or third-party?
For the Mighty2, third-party cartridges at roughly $28 cost about 40% of Coway's price. The sellers rarely publish tested HEPA efficiency or how much carbon is inside, and on a bonded cartridge the carbon content is the biggest unknown. For a home office or guest room, that's a fair gamble. For an asthmatic's bedroom or wildfire season, the genuine cartridge is the safer buy.
For the original Mighty, the genuine set is already the cheaper of the two genuine options, which leaves less reason to experiment. For either machine, checking a compatible filter's fit and seal matters more than the HEPA grade printed on the box.
Switching from a Mighty to a Mighty2
Spare AP-1512HH sets are useless in the new machine. Before you upgrade, either use them up by keeping the old purifier running in another room, or pass them to someone with an AP-1512HH, AP-1512HHS or 200M. Don't stock up on 2-packs in the months before a planned switch.
If you're still deciding whether to replace a working unit, the Coway Airmega Mighty2 product page and our original Mighty review cover performance; this page sticks to keeping either one supplied with filters.
Frequently asked questions
My Coway box just says Airmega Mighty. Which filter do I order?
Go by the model number on the purifier's label, not the box. AP-1512HH, AP-1512HHS and Airmega 200M all take the AP-1512HH-FP set; AP-1512N takes the AP-1512N-FP cartridge. A unit bought before March 2026 is almost certainly the original.
Can I buy just the carbon filters for the original Mighty?
The genuine AP-1512HH-FP is sold as a set of one HEPA filter plus two carbon pre-filters, which is a year's supply. We did not confirm a Coway-sold carbon-only pack, so plan around the full set.
Does Coway sell a subscription for the Mighty2 filter?
Coway's store lists the AP-1512N-FP at $69.99, or $66.49 with its subscribe-and-save discount of 5%. At one cartridge a year, that saves about $3.50 annually.
Do the Home Depot Allergen and Pet filter sets fit the Mighty2?
The Allergen and Pet versions seen at Home Depot ($54.99 and $51.99) are AP-1512HH sets for the original Mighty, AP-1512HHS and 200M. They do not fit the AP-1512N.
Which Mighty has the cheaper filters?
The original, by about $10 to $15 a year with genuine parts: roughly $55 to $60 for a year's AP-1512HH set against $69.99 for a Mighty2 cartridge. Third-party Mighty2 cartridges at about $28 each undercut both.
