Quick verdict
Buy the standard F2MAX for everyday dust, pollen and dander, since it's the cheapest genuine option and the one the CADR rating is based on. Pay $15 more for SmokeBlock only if smoke or strong odors are your main problem. AllergenBlock and EcoLast are niche upgrades rather than must-haves.
Ideal for
- Blue Pure 211i Max owners replacing the standard filter
- Everyday dust, pollen and pet-dander households
- Buyers who want the cheapest genuine 211i Max option
Not ideal for
- Blue Pure 211, 211+ or 211+ Auto owners (wrong fit)
- Smoke-heavy homes (choose the SmokeBlock version)
The full picture
The F2MAX is the standard main filter for the Blue Pure 211i Max, combining HEPASilent particle media with an activated-carbon layer that Blueair pitches for light household odors. Blueair rates it for up to nine months, with RealTrack estimating wear from fan speed, hours and pollution, and suggests six to nine months in practice. That works out to about $93 to $140 a year at list price. It fits only the 211i Max, not the 211, 211+ or 211+ Auto. The washable fabric pre-filter sleeve is a separate $12.99 part.

Frequently asked questions
Which Blueair 211i Max filter should I buy: Particle + Carbon, SmokeBlock, AllergenBlock or EcoLast?
Particle + Carbon ($69.99) suits most homes. SmokeBlock ($84.99) has twice the activated carbon and is the one for wildfire smoke, a smoker in the house or strong cooking odors. AllergenBlock ($89.99) adds a coating Blueair says neutralizes over 90% of pollen, dust and dander allergen properties, and EcoLast ($99.99) uses wool-based media Blueair says lasts twice as long.
How long does the Blueair 211i Max filter last?
Blueair rates the Particle + Carbon, SmokeBlock and AllergenBlock filters for up to nine months, and its Blue Pure Max FAQ says to expect six to nine months. EcoLast is sold on an 18-month subscription cycle, and Blueair claims it doubles filter life. Heavy smoke or dust will shorten all of these.
Does the 211+ filter fit the 211i Max?
No. The F2MAX filter fits only the Blue Pure 211i Max, and the 211, 211+ and 211+ Auto use a different filter. Check the model name on the label inside your purifier before ordering.
Is the EcoLast filter worth it?
Only if you value the materials or fewer changes. At $99.99 for a claimed 18 months, it works out cheaper per month than the $69.99 standard filter on paper, but it was showing as sold out on Blueair's US store when checked, and the longer life is Blueair's claim.
Are cheaper third-party 211i Max filters OK?
Several compatible filters are sold on Amazon, some advertising H13 media. They may fit, but HEPASilent is tuned for Blueair's own media, and airflow and real CADR with a third-party filter are untested. If you try one, compare how quickly auto mode clears the air afterward.
How do I reset the filter light after changing the 211i Max filter?
Hold the fan-speed button for about 15 seconds until all the interface LEDs light up, then release, according to Blueair. The filter indicator should turn off.
