Quick verdict

The genuine Winix 5500-2 set includes the True HEPA filter (about a year) and the washable AOC carbon filter — which you rinse rather than replace, which is why the 5500-2 is cheap to run. Only the HEPA is a true consumable; keep the pre-filter clean and you'll stretch the interval.
